CNC Milling for Model Railroads
One of the reasons I got into model railroading was coming across an old forum post (somewhere else) about a fellow who milled Z scale locomotive bodies out of metal back in the earlier 2000’s. It may make sense at that scale, but at larger scales the loss of material would tend to push people towards additive rather than reductive methods (3D printing vs. milling). There are a ton of use-cases for milling, so I’m wondering if people in any scale use milling for rolling stock or layout items and what good advice they’ve picked up along the way.
