It’s the early 70s and we caught this Amtrak train heading over the spillway towards its terminus at Crescent City. The engines are Rapido and the cars are a mix of Walthers and Rapido Trains Inc. .

Knocked out some old projects over the extended Labor Day weekend. Three new cabooses now on the layout, two locomotives getting striping and lettering for my Kanawha, Youngstown & Northern and some SPST switches wired in for powering the staging tracks at Wheeling.

Hey, this is kinda neat.

I’m based out of West Michigan, but grew up near the Illinois Railway Museum. Plenty of good railroading out in that area.

I mostly do locomotive and electrical work, but I’ve been digging in to rolling stock projects and a lot of layout design, as well as L-Gauge modeling and operations.

I’m looking forward to learning…
