Hi everyone, I recently got a Hornby Oliver for free but it needs some work to put right.

I’ll be taking what parts I need from an old Dapol 14xx, as it’s the same tooling, and likely repainting the green due to sun damage but it’ll still need a face.

Hoping that someone might have a spare or know where I can source an alternative eg 3d print…

Is there anywhere to buy British building kits? Or is there something I can do to old European buildings to make them look correct?

Initially I though of grinding off the face of the model. Kinda glad I didn’t do that (despite already trimming off the edge of the nose). It was better to cut out the face entirely, which meant more creative freedom on the back of the loco, and also I have a new face!

This was for the last diorama challenge set by the Talyllyn Railway, but due to other commitments for a video project, I never really did finish off my diorama.

Perhaps with this new group I’ll have the motivation to complete this in my spare time. We shall see.

I understand that some modellers would turn their nose up at something like Thomas or anything connected to him. But I feel like we live in a time where that interest is slowly starting to become…
