I am currently working on a layout depicting the elevated sections of the New york transit.Set circa the late 1970’s when the city was bankrupt and the system was in a state of disrepair and covered in graffiti.I have been using ITLA scale models in Canada for the elevated structures and some of the prototypical buildings. The layout is only about 50 percent complete,i can post progress pictures periodically if anybody wants to see them.

Very cool. I know I would love to see more. These days painted subway cars don’t even get out of the yards. I did see two last week in service that had clearly been painted but the sides were totally cleaned. The car roofs though showed paint overspray.

Thankyou for the interest,I will upload some more images soon,I am planning to add some derelict, burned out buildings to the project soon and I will post some of my r17 cars which I have weathered, some of these portray the “white car era”,circa 1982?,when mayor Koch was getting the MTA to combat the graffiti epidemic.

I like it, can’t wait to see the completed layout.
