I started working on this HO layout build last year and have been posting updates on both my YouTube channel, as well as a forum. In order to introduce the layout here, I figured the best way to do so was show the track plan first. This layout was created by James Hilton. I had about a 9’ x 9’ space to work with, so this is what we came up…

Sadly I never had a name for my second layout. Never got to finish it either before I had to move house.

The elevator at Natchez certainly had a lot of business. This area represents a fictitious industrial district on The Crescent Lines River District.

Made a sort of proof of concept module last year in anticipation of having some television people heading my way for a look. Made a board, 3 layers of foam and spray painted using cans. Very basic and just needed something down in a hurry. Technically not fine work and plenty of dodgy bits if scrutinised hard.

Several shots of me building a concentric helix with splines of masonite.
I wanted a smooth climb that I can pull longer trains. This helix only requires the track to pass under itself once, at the bottom. I will have 4 occupancy detectors to show location of trains traveling through this helix with LEDs.Loops: 6

This is my most recent N Gauge layout module. It’s based on the section of the West Highland Line in Scotland called Courrour Summit, on Rannoch Moor. The module is compatible with Kato mini diorama modules but is pretty large for a mini dio. I made it so I could photograph my 3D printed alumina hopper wagons. I’m pleased with it, and it…

This was a layout made by my grandfather, It is made a long time ago when there was not a lot of scenery material to work with. I personally really like it what do you think?

Today I visited MSV Schiespoor in Schiedam The Netherlands. A great Model train club with some very nice layouts!

I started making this layout a long time ago, It is so much fun building a modeltrain layout!
Just thinking about the layout and the track plan is very nice and the best thing about a model train layout is… Its never finished 🙂
