My current WIP layout is an N Scale L Shaped layout nicknamed “LLV2.5-NC”(L Shaped Layout Variation 2.5 – North Carolina). The layout currently features a main double looped section that includes a single passing connected to a single siding that leads next to a warehouse. It also includes another single siding that leads into an industry building and then a probable railyard to stage all of my locomotives. The main double loop section also will include a single crossover into a “mainline” This mainline doesn’t really lead anywhere except into a tunnel portal to give off the impression that it’s connected to other lines. This table is 7ft x 3ft. The L Section of the layout will feature a single loop that leads around back into the double loop. This section will include a 2% Incline bit that will lead to a river scene in the middle of the straight section then crossover said river and start to go back down using the same 2% incline. If this incline bit ends before the double loop I will include a single siding that curves with the loop and ends before the river into a train station. The main features of this layout will be a storm rolling over hills using a sound module, the river will also include a sound module, and maybe parts of the industry will have sound modules as well. This way the layout feels more alive even if it remains DC. It will also feature quite a bit of lighting for night time scenes. A lot of what I will include on this layout is inspired by DIY & Digital Railroad.
