      Beaver's Visit

My club’s clubhouse is in the basement of the administration building at Scouts Canada’s Camp Samac. In Ontario, this week is March Break, so there’s a camp going on at Camp Samac. The organizers approached us a few months ago and asked if some of the groups can come in and have a look (even though the permanent layouts are only partially finished), so we said yes! We set up our portable HO and one of our portable N scale layouts for them and also were able to run trains for them on the HO and N permanent layouts as we have the mainlines finished and are just working on sidings and yards now before we get to the scenery.

Yesterday we had the Beavers (boys and girls aged 7-9). Today was the Cubs (boys and girls aged 10-12), but I was at work so didn’t get any photos. Tomorrow will be some Scouts (boys and girls aged 12-14), including some with special needs. Again, I am working so won’t be able to get any photos.

As it was the 3rd Monday of the month, our monthly education clinic was in the evening. The topic was T-TRAK. The club (Pineridge Railroaders, Inc. in Oshawa, Ontario) has both N and HO scale modules. Since we have a few new members recently who were unfamiliar with T-TRAK, it was a great topic for the clinic.
