About me

Modeling in S and N scales, the alternate history Burlington Gulf Railroad (BG), the product of a fictitious 1976 merger of two prototype railroads: the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad (CB&Q) and the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad. Modeled locations are all real-life locations in west-central Illinois, starting with the ex-CB&Q Galesburg IL Yard on the north end, due south through Bushnell and Beardstown to Jacksonville, IL, where the modeled portion of the line connects to the ex-GM&O Jack Line from Jacksonville south through the GM&O’s Western Division Wye at Roodhouse, and continues southward down to the Mississippi River valley at Alton, to the GM&O’s former C&A Venice Yard, just north of Relay Depot in East St. Louis, IL. Geographically, this is the shortest north-south railroad route between Galesburg and metro St. Louis.
