Hi my name is Carla and grew up around trains over the years thanks to my father, I did try N gauge but they are very small to work on before. It wasn’t until met my husband that he shared same passion for model railway and all things railway. Started my 00 gauge layout in 2020 during Covid it was one of life longtime ambition to build a layout based on memories of old station that was closed. It is mostly 60-80’s BR era ranging from steam diesel and electric locos and DMU.

like many of us started building and making scenery buildings, learning more as time progressed until eventual electrical side of things such as motorised points and signalling system and finally street and platform lighting self taught too thanks to my friend who has been in model railway for years and my husband who believed in me that I was capable of so much more.

Many of you will learn and discover hidden talents during your journey through layout planning and building and electrical works and what works and what doesn’t work on your layout and improvements which will involve changes for the better. It’s not a competition or a race even but sharing and enjoying layouts even for a beginner starting out it’s how we all started out 🙂
