De-socket to DCC
Unfortunately testing seemed to indicate that the socket in this loco was faulty so I had to remove it and then hardwired a chip instead.

Chipping older Hornby Castle Class
If you have a one with a ringfield motor and want to chip it without loosing the massive weight, there is a small weight just in the firebox that can be removed and it’s just big enough (with some rewiring) to fit a small 4 Pin decoder.
