Cement wagons accumulate dust where the loading and unloading takes place. The nature of such loads means cleaning is near impossible without a full refresh.

Diesel-hydraulics are always a good go to when you want a heavier set of colours on your locos.
The DD54 is a classic example of early tech getting coated in oil and soot.

Made a sort of proof of concept module last year in anticipation of having some television people heading my way for a look. Made a board, 3 layers of foam and spray painted using cans. Very basic and just needed something down in a hurry. Technically not fine work and plenty of dodgy bits if scrutinised hard.
