I’m glad to see someone modeling the SP&S and/or having them in BN consists! The SP&S and NP seem to be semi-forgotten and rarely modeled railroads. I’m an East Coast modeler (PC, EL, LV, CNJ), but love to see the SP&S and NP colors! And I just recently learned Conrail leased some BN units, ex-SP&S RS-3’s still in the SP&S colors. I should have ordered one from Atlas. Photo reference below. (NOT my photo)

I model Great Northern, Northern Pacific and Spokane Portland & Seattle. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so it just made sense to me. SP&S models are harder to get, as it is less popular than most other railroads. I am slowly building my fleet. I was not aware that any of the former SP&S were leased to Conrail. Thank you for the info.

Nice! I have a custom painted GN BSB SD-45 that I run with my EL SD45’s as pool power. And I have a small GN, NP, WP and SP&S boxcar fleet for hauling lumber products on my trains. As well as several NP and GN/BN WFE 57′ mechanical reefers for apples and seafood; and a 7-car block of NP, GN and CB&Q covered hoppers for hauling western grain to east coast breweries. Here are two more photos of SP&S RS-3’s. Same owner, not my photos.
