Little Weldon
Please allow me to introduce you to my layout “Little Weldon” which I have been building for the last 8.5 years. The layout measures 11’4″ x 5’10” and runs round the walls of the Railway (Spare) Room. Little Weldon is a fully scenic Hornby Dublo 3 Rail layout. For those who may not know Hornby Dublo was produced by Meccano Limited between 1938 – 1964 with a gap in production due to WWII.
As Little Weldon started to develop I decided that I would like to build a layout in the style of a typical layout that could have been shown in the “Reader’s Layout” section of the Meccano Magazine or Railway Modeller. With this in mind I have tried to use techniques and accessories which are contemporary to the HD. Here and there, there are some more modern pieces but with these I have tried to keep the modelling to a consistent standard to that of the vintage pieces.
