improvised camera slider
i sadly dont own a camera slider, because the good ones are comically expensive, but of course i still want nice smooth slider shots in some of my videos, so i sometimes use this sketchy construction to get those shots.
Its sadly not as steady as i originally hoped, but it still works somewhat decently (if you make sure your camera doesnt fall down)
Have you ever built a sketchy camera rig for a shot?

a smaller camera like those body cameras or home monitoring cameras may work better. especially if moving in tight areas. As for the bouncing, I would think that would add realism, as you would have some in real life like when crossing switches.

@casey-jones yeah totally, something like a osmo pocket would be ideal for such shots, but i currently dont want to buy another camera, so im improvising

@casey-jones I’m in the process of designing a mount for my Pocket to attach to an old flatcar, it’s more intricate of a process than I envisaged, mostly due to the Pocket. While the Pocket can lay flat the servo motors are near their limit on one of the axis. It seems if I leave it in fixed FPV mode it works okay but occasionally it hits a servo limiter and it gets stuck, resets, or just turns off (this is while sticking it to the flatcar with blu-tac as a test bed on some random flextrack I’ve got lying around.
