This is a model of the locomotive that is seen pulling the Orient Express in Doctor Who. Most notably the episode ‘Mummy on the Orient Express’ where the majority of it takes place on the train.
The engine looks like a class T12 with the size and chassis of a T18 minus one trailing axle. So I bought a liliput T18 and started modelling it to look like the engine from the show. Luckily I already owned a T12 (or in my case a BR74), so It was a bit easy to trace most of the parts I needed to make for this loco.
The tender I bought from Elaine’s Trains, which was a lucky buy as It was a bit difficult to get one of the design I needed. Yes, tank engines with tenders look odd, but this is science fiction and I wanted to model the locomotive in full. However, not too far from reality than you might think! One only has to think of Energie 507 for example, which is built to accomadate a tender should It need it.
Hope you like it! <3
