I started modeling during the “19” thing. I purchased a basic Kato set & got bored quickly. I then learned about DCC, ++ and Arduino control. I’m currently working on an N Scale 6 track Intermodal/Switch Yard to Free-Mo N specs. I have temporarily fixed track on the (3) 1’x4’ modules that make up the yard, 12 linear ft total. I’m having difficulty with Signaling, Occupancy Detection & getting JMRI to recognize it all. I run a Digitrax setup controlled by a Zephyr DCS-52.
