It's in the blood
Good morning all!
I’m John and based in North East England (and yes it’s raining). I’ve been about the hobby since the early 80’s when my first memory of opening my first train set on Christmas day. (Hornby Intercity exec livery.)
Stayed on the outskirts of the hobby for many years until my brief TV appearance in the early 90’s when hornby re-released the Flying Scotsman. I joined my local club with my Dad for a couple of years before discovering the age old issue of girls and beer. (Not necessarily in that order)
I bought the odd magazine and way more stock, kits, paints etc than I should have just to feed the itch.
Moving forward many years and a global Pandemic, what better to do then get back into the hobby, started planning a small layout with ‘that’ bit of wood in the garage and put some track down, learnt the basics of DCC and played trains for a few weeks before we were allowed back to work and the boards are as they were in 2021. I’ll get back to something soon 🤞🏻.
I’ve been to a fair few of local exhibitons and a few further afield, I rejoined my local club last May for help and advise which has been very welcomed.
I have YouTube and Instagram accounts under Kendal Valley Model Railway, it’s more of exhibitons than my progress.
Next step: finish shelving in the garage, measure workable space and get back on the journey.
If you’ve made it this fair, thanks for reading.
