I created some simple switch locks for OPs. These are made from laminated cardstock attached to the fascia with velcro and a screw eye drilled into the diagram with a lock attached. During switching sessions, the conductor will need to unlock the switch before the engineer can proceed. Nothing too fancy but this will definitely slow OPs down and (hopefully) add a touch of realism.
