I was reintroduced to model railroading about a year and a half ago. I was amazed by how much the hobby had grown since I was a teenager. I am now modeling a short line RR called the Kankakee Beaverville and Southern. It runs from Kankakee, IL to either Danville, IL or Lafayette, IN depending on which branch line is chosen. The KBSR interchanges with the CN, CSX, NS and UP as well as the TP&W and Bee Line RRs. After I retired from the US Army I worked at a rail car repair shop that is situated on the KBSR. I plan to model that shop as well as a few other locations on the RR.
