I built this over the long weekend. It is 17×21 inches, using Kato Unitrack’s 150mm curves with a Bachmann Plymouth switcher and 40-foot boxcars. I used Woodland Scenics ground foam for the trees, bushes, and grass and fine ballast for the gravel road and parking area. The small building is a scratch built that I picked up at a train show recently. I now have this in my office and am introducing my coworkers to model railroading. It will change over time so that I keep it fresh, I also plan to put remote control on it in some fashion so that I can change speed, direction, and whether it is running or not. I will probably build the remote control using an Arduino and a motor shield, but it will be DC not DCC, the little Plymouth doesn’t have room for a decoder.
