A bloke just has to have a bit of a go at things. I decided to extend a spur line. The track was really close to the backdrop and the train wouldn't look at that good casting a shadow across the valley beyond… so I decided on the 12mm Forest. Yep, I stuck a ruler in there and it's 12mm exactly. Nature is funny like that. Making this took hours but it was so much fun because it was popping before my very eyes. The Redwoods are balsa whittled down, then using a bastard file drew down the bark detail. After drilling wee holes, I glued twigs in for branches. These are now on my MH&E HO scale layout…..just not as grand as they were on the N scale pike.
