Many years ago I was a member of a local club. Some of the N scale structures I thought would look better if they were straighter and not completely primary colours, so I took the home and had at them. I thought a scene would be made larger without needing more structures by creating a vacant lot inbetween with ghost walls left stuck the neighbouring walls. I visited the club recently and they're still on the layout but the vacant lot motif wasn't.
