									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This Copper Range steel rock hopper was built in the 1910s by Western Steel Car &amp; Foundry Co as the second batch of 75 total cars. These were often used to haul stamp sand from the mills to dump sites. Their arch bar trucks were retained through their entire life, meaning they could not leave the Copper Range after 1939.</p>

									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>While doing a little testing for a project I have on the bench, I figured I&#8217;d try out a couple other pieces to see if they&#8217;d work. </p>
<p>This is a 7&#8243; radius curve, which the East Penn Traction Club states as the minimum radius for all interurban equipment on street trackage with radial couplers. </p>

I&#8217;m hoping I can retrofit more locomotives this way to keep my old brass stuff going.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m based out of West Michigan, but grew up near the Illinois Railway Museum. Plenty of good railroading out in that area.</p>
<p>I mostly do locomotive and electrical work, but I&#8217;ve been digging in to rolling stock projects and a lot of layout design, as well as L-Gauge modeling and operations.</p>

<p>The original trucks were having hardware issues, and the motor seemed to be giving out. I checked against some parts I got from a friend and found out it all lined up.</p>
<p>So with some new custom bolsters and wiring, the Proto drive has been fitted to the&hellip;</p>
