Improvement suggestion: more participants/contributors.

@Martin I am working really hard to get new members interested this way I hope the amount of content that will be posted will also increase. It is something that is top priority for us!
Also activating the current members is really something that we are looking at because there are a lot of members who do not seem to login that often.

For me what’s holding me back from using this it’s just easier to use Facebook. Just need to change habits I think.

@RobsTrains And are you having any trouble with posting or is it just that for now Facebook is just with more people and more activity then here? Because what my main goal is to improve the performance and user experience of this platform so it becomes just as easy to use as Facebook but in the end completely focussed on model trains.
So in user experience we slowly want to improve as much as we can to create the best experience possible but if there are any things withholding you from posting more then it would be really interesting to know. Then I will try to improve that so more people can join and we can make this platform a succes.
The end goal is a platform where hobbyists are the boss and you together with all other members can decide how we need to create such space where everybody finds what they want!

@Modeltrainmedia would be handy to have an app for using on my phone. I post a lot of content to Instagram which gets shared to my Facebook page, so if there’s an easier way to share to all three sites at once would be great

I personally have performance issues using the mobile browser (chrome). Hopefully the planned mobile app happens soon. Overall with more people i can really see this working out. Good job so far.

I haven’t been able to complete my membership details in my profile, so I haven’t proceeded any further than that. I get an error message saying I must enter both my first and last name, but there are no boxes for that.
Once I get past completing my profile, I expect I’ll post more.

My suggestion is to look at the members with low points. Reach out to them, ask them if they need with anything. Provide feedback and any assistance possible. Offer encouragement to them. Some times certain people need to have their hand held a little bit till they see some progress. While others that joined may find it is not for them. Maybe place them in an inactive folder with the option to become active, or allow them to leave if that is what they want. I know that this will put more on your plate. Maybe if you had some help, that would lighten your load. That would be my suggestion.

@casey-jones I actually do not planning on forcing members to be active I hope people will become active by their passion for trains. The idea to reach out to members who have been active for a longer period is an interesting one and I will be making an email for such members in the future.

@Modeltrainmedia Oscar I agree with you, to force someone you end up losing them, or turn them off, it should be entirely voluntary. I do think sometimes that assistance and encouragement is needed. According to the NMRA as of 2 yrs ago the average age of it’s members was 65 years old. For most of these older adults modern technology can be a bit overwhelming. Things like DCC and computers require some learning, which can be difficult for older adults. I imagine you are a younger person, you grew up with computers, it is easier for you. Just have some patience with the older folks, sometimes they need more help than others.

@DavoDentetsu Hi, actually when you click on the post button, on the right bottom corner you can see a little clock. If you click on there it should be possible to do scheduled posts!

I’d love to be able to choose a default privacy level for my posts instead of having to set it every time

I would love some integration or collaboration with the Model Train People server on Discord.
I would also like to be able to add or embed links to text replies like this, so the “ugly” link itself does not need to be visible in the text.
