I’m really surprised that there wasn’t an operations group on here yet, so I created one.

I am not a “watch the train go round” modeler. I really enjoy operating on my layout and would love to have more discussions with others that share that interest.

Please feel free to post tips, trick, questions and ideas to this group.

Several shots of me building a concentric helix with splines of masonite.
I wanted a smooth climb that I can pull longer trains. This helix only requires the track to pass under itself once, at the bottom. I will have 4 occupancy detectors to show location of trains traveling through this helix with LEDs.

It wasn’t totally intuitive (even for a software developer). My thoughts on having the list on the left nav were more about jumping around to the different groups to read as well.

Could be that I just need to “learn the system” as well.

Thanks.

Howdy. I’m currently working on my 3rd layout. It’s a freelanced 14’x14′ N-scale layout in my barn.
The Echo Lake and Maltby RR (ELMRR) is a fantasy line running somewhere on the map between Everett, Monroe, Seattle and Renton. Mostly modern BNSF, but a smattering of CPR and BCR run through.
Here’s the most recent (although not…
