An unexpected visitor arrives on the PC&NP
Its been a hot minute since the last update of my layout. Well, there isn’t much to report on the layout itself (though I hope to begin ballasting very soon). However, I hae acquired a new locomotive that doesn’t quite match the theme, but is very cool all the same.
I told myself my next locomotive would be steam, and pre-ordered some Great Northern locomotives from BLI. Little did I know, those would not be my first steam locomotives.
A guy at my local train club offered to sell his BLI Big Boy for $100–a steal. The locomotive has some operational eccentricities, but for $400 off the average price, they are dissmissible. So, I am now the proud owner of UP Big Boy #4023 in N scale.
