Canadian Pacific 2-10-4 “Selkirk” 5935 makes its way back to Revelstoke as the first snow of the season begins to fall around it.
I took my photo of my Pacific Pike brass model and ran it through Google Gemini to get this awesome effect over the engine. I even got it to add in smoke as well.

When Rapido Trains Inc. announced the Canadian Pacific H1a/b class Hudson steam locomotives I, like many others, were exited for them. However, most were exacted most of all for the famed CP 2816 “Empress” that was included in the run.
Sadly, being on a super tight budget I could not commit to preordering any of them until I saw how my money…

The trainroom has been an absolute wreck the last month due to having to neglect it thanks to classes. This afternoon I was able to take time to put things away, rearrange models on display and on the layout itself.

It looks good, but it did take a while. Worth it though.

I decided to snap a few quick photos of the displays just for the sake…

CP (CPKC) 1200 arrived yesterday from Chippewa Rail Shops on Etsy.

This is a resin 3D printed set which includes the locomotive itself, the fuel tender and additional separate sparts such as the radiator section at the rear and the custom fuel tank attachment.
The locomotive shell is made to ride on a heavily modified Athearn Genesis…

Over the weekend my buddy Logan brought me back my Canadian Pacific FP9A number 4106 after he installed DCC in it for me.
This unit was the last of the trio of F units I have gotten for my growing Royal Canadian Pacific train. It is also a re-decaled/renumbered Intermountain Railway unit. I did this to reflect how the real 4106 appears as it…

BC Rail’s electrified Tumbler Subdivision was certainly an oddity out of almost all North American freight rail lines.

Operating unit coal trains with a fleet of seven GF6C locomotives built by GMD in London, Ontario, from 1983 unit 2000. The units put out 6,000 H.P.

However, these models have seen very limited runs in the model railroad…

    Steaming through Saturday.

Canadian Pacific D10 922 passes by a rural farm with a short local freight consisting of four box cars and a caboose.
The 922 and three of the four box cars are from Rapido while the caboose is an old Trueline Trains item.

One mans “trash” is another mans treasure!

My model railroad club has been thinning out the rolling stock fleet to get rid of cars that either were road names that were not relevant to the era being modeled, non local road names, or were simply to large to fit through some of the curved tunnels on the layout.

    As a result I grabbed these three…

I finally managed to track down a very hard to find model in a place I never expected to find it in.

In 2015, Norfolk Southern restored SD40 3170 to it’s original Southern Railway scheme. It was later donated to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga TN where it can be found today.
This was the very first SD40 built for the…

    The last of the Cowls.

BC Rail C40-8M 4609, as of the time of this posting, is the very last of it’s kind on the roster of Canadian National Railway.
CN merged with BC Rail in 2004, adding these full body cowl Dash-8’s to their fleet and using them system wide.

At the beginning part of this decade, the units began to be retired and scrapped due…
