I credit my grandfather for my love for trains.  He was an employee of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad in Savannah, GA.

I was an avid HO modeler for years, but my first exposure to S scale changed everything for me.  It truly is the OPTIMAL scale to model in… not too small like HO, TT, N and Z scales, and not too big like O and G scales.  It also encourages me to be an actual MODELER (instead of just a train collector) due to the somewhat limited product availability.

I do not have a layout yet, but I am gradually working on plans for both a portable layout to take to shows as well as a permanent home layout.
