Starting from the rear note the last tank car is a walk thru where you can see the entire interior. On another you can walk across the entire top.

It was just a matter of really paying attention to wire routing. the two outer switches control the tower lights and flasher, and the center switch controls the lift bridge itself. It is designed as to extend the wiring externally to the edge of a layout.
