Blimey where do I start, oh the beginning, just a year ago I started thinking about a model railway after seeing a Hornby TT120 post on FB, it was the sounds that drew me to the scale (I didn’t know all scales could do this) so I convinced the wife this would be a good thing, so she bought me the Scotsman train set for a birthday gift, I suffered the usual frustrations that seemingly everyone has in the early days, but got through it with the help of the TT120 Facebook group members.

then thoughts turned to what I wanted to model, my local town of St Ives in Cambs used to have a railway and station, but suffered Mr Beechings cuts, so that was my plan, the river is a big part of our lives so that had to be a big feature.

over time I have had to learn so many new skills and keep disappearing down rabbit holes

      automated points via the app

      paining buiildings

      making buildings

buying 3D printed bodies to assemble

      automated shuttle

      the list goes on

i have used YouTube extensively to learn stuff, and by chance I’m here because of @loading gauge with Lucy

I have a little YouTube channel of my own, but I do this just to mark my progress and share with friends and family

hers a few pics of what’s been going on
