      Hypotypical

Back in December of 2024 I added a Scaletrains Rivet Counter HO-scale GE ET44AC to my fleet. This was not unlike others from the line I had bought and reviewed on my channel prior to this moment, but this was my first GEVO from their new line of Hypotypical Models. Basically Scaletrain’s take on “What If” models, the first run included a very attractive Canadian Pacific scheme with road numbers 9905 and 9921. I picked up the 9905 for my personal fleet and it arrived a few days later. Since I had to shipped to where I was working at the time, the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, I had the chance to take it out for a couple of quick outdoor photos before the day get busy.

The details are what you would come to expect from Scaletrains at this point and the paint is the same story. What I found very interesting, however, is the tool they chose to use for the CP models. These units are the exact same as the pair of Canadian National Heritage units I got a while back and are built to CN specifications. The biggest spotting feature is the presence of the CN style marker lights which are a single beam light on top of one of the ditch lights on both ends of the locomotive. And yes, they do indeed work on DCC function 5.
