Back to that “castle deflector” i mentioned earlier,
this was the test fit on my GWR castle (I wont be using this one for this mod) and they fit rather well! they just require some work towards the bottom of the deflector plates to rest properly on the footplate. This is using Royal Scot deflectors for the record.
On the look out for a BR(W) modern hornby castle with double chimney so if you know anyone with one to spare please let me know!
