Work kinda knocked me out for the afternoon, so there was no way I was going to add the 3rd layer of gloss varnish onto the main layout tonight. big sad…

But, I did manage to get my second layer of static grass laid on top of the fiddle yard for the Isle. I know It’s a fiddle yard, but I want It to look pretty even though the public won’t be looking at it much. Plus you can see the road extention which follows the railway from the main board!

I do like how when the track has been covered in grass, It kinda looks like 1950s Talyllyn track in a way. Perhaps there’s a modelling challenge to be had one day themed around that…

The Islander locomotive has got a chassis, It’s been dremeled out to fit said chassis, next job will be to work out fitting it to the body. It’s not so much a priority at the moment, but I would kinda like to have a good chunk of it done before the open day.

Want to see this for yourself? Come to my local club’s second open day of the year! Details in the poster attached!
