Over the Christmas holiday of 2024, Norfolk Southern opened their headquarters building in Atlanta, GA to local modular model railroad club North Georgia Modurail for a public display.
My step son and I went down to visit the display the day after Christmas to see the layout. It a quiet day in downtown Atlanta which was pretty nice and there were only a handful of people visiting. As a result I was able to get photos of the layout and they even allowed my step son to run one of the trains for about an hour and half! Which made his day!

In my 1980’s childhood my Grandfather took me to the Norfolk Lambert’s Point office of the Norfolk Western and I remember a massive LGB layout some workers had set up on the floor of a big empty office space. I wish I had pictures

@Este-Pandy-Projects A great memory! I still remember when NS was still headquartered out of Roanoke. We drove past the building when my Mom and myself were on a road trip back in 2007. Considering a merger with Union Pacific is now on the table I’m glad we were able to visit the building in Atlanta as it will likely be done away with in the coming years if it goes through.
