For those of you who have never seen one of these box cars before we see EL 50462 at Binghamton, N.Y. 5-1977, my photo. This car was formally used in express service and possibly bulk mail service on through line passenger trains and was equipped with steam lines. At that time these cars were numbered in the 100 series I believe and were former DL&W cars, hence the passenger paint scheme. When express and mail service ended the cars were renumbered as noted by the patched over area with the new car number.
