To celebrate 200 years of the modern railway, I’m debuting my latest creation built for the End of the Isle layout! …In it’s almost complete state. Well, It is complete. Just doesn’t have the firebox light yet.

The engine was built in Switzerland to work the railway of the Isle, that was mothballed shortly after the company’s collapse. Abandoned, the locomotive and It’s railway was claimed by the sea, and destroyed.

This engine utilises the diecast toy model of Godred from The Railway Series and a Roco BR80 chassis in N scale. Which I selected because of the valvegear. I wanted this engine to have good looking valve gear on the side that could fit into the small rectangular space under the tank. The body, like all the Talyllyn engines I’m building, is made of die-cast and was dremelled to hell to get that chassis to fit, as well opening up the front windows, chimney, smokebox and to remove the face from behind the cab.

Details added include a working smokebox door, moving regulator, turning handbrake and a detailed cab made of small parts I’ve made myself such as gauge glasses, reverser, blower and such. The injectors are all small paperclip pieces, the coal bunker is made of wood, the handrails on the front are made from guitar string I believe, and the mech-lubricator is a 4-pin plug. Kinda helps that part of that piece was already part of the body. Not that the driver has much room to see out amyway.

All the builders plates and name plates are printed pieces, the name plates being custom made in Clip Studio, and the builders plates came from the internet.
