Hello everyone, let me introduce myself. My is Brian but my friends call me Hilly and I live in Kent (UK) I’m in my senior years looking to find inspiration to occupy my free time, which I have loads of! So, I decided to build a model rail layout, N gauge.
Guidance/help to buy N gauge locomotives.
With reference to the photos its take me 2 years plus to get this far, albeit i don’t work on it every day. Anyway, hopefully, below give you some idea of my efforts so far. This layout is 2ft wide and 4ft long, perfect size for amount of space I have available.
My definition of model railway, you need to be a mini engineer! What I’m trying to say, you don’t appreciate the level of patience, knowledge and to be an accountant (reasonable size budget) as well, needed to build something of size that involve with.
Anyway, I’ve stuck with it, and I think I’ve done a pretty go job ( yes i know, I’m blowing my own trumpet!), however this hobby is not cheap. So much so my budget is about shot to pieces. I’m at stage where I need to buy some locomotive, but unfortunately I’m not in a position payout hundreds of pound to buy new!
Anyway, I’m looking for guidance where to buy secondhand, preferably 60/70 era diesel. So, I would much appreciate if there’s anyone out there that can point me in right direction.
Thank you all in advance.

This is a fantastic layout. Very inspiring! Im new too so I don’t have much in terms of advice. I’d actually like to see more of your details on this layout.
