So, I had this blank space on the layout and thought it was time to do something with it. It was not particularly large and the curved tracks behind limited what could be done. Originally there was no hedge at the front but I had put that in before taking the first photo. I made up a couple of Metcalfe workers cottages and a crofters…

Some photo’s of my old layout, I remember really struggling with this city part.
I wanted it to be really realistic but with the carton sheets I could not make that level of realism. I think painting on the cork would even be better.

Great to see that Bachmann are bringing back the Great Western, Castle class steam locomotives in the Graham Farish N Gauge range. These have been missing for a long time but looks as though they have been upgraded with additional fine detail and NEM coupling pockets. They are making them available in both GWR and British Rail liveries, as well…
