Back in August, I visited the SVBM at Lathalmond, amongst the trade stalls was a Lima Torpedo Wagon, for £6, having wanted one for a few years, I bought it.
I had planned on weathering it, but some research online, and found that although it’s based on a French one, it wasn’t to far of a Distington built Torp, so I set about the work.
First…

A working class Princess.
This is British Railways Princess Coronation Class Pacific number 46243, the “City of Lancaster”.
I got this Hornby model was purchased from Rails of Sheffield and I also took advantage of their weathering and DCC installation services to not only make the model ready to use on my layout, but also to give a unique look… -

The very first OO Gauge steam locomotive I ever bought.
A friend of mine who collects British trains on the side introduced me to Accurascale and their brand new SE&CR P Class tank engines, including the famed “Blue Bell” from the Blue Bell Railway. I had this exact same locomotive in toy from from Ertl in their Thomas & Friends line. I made a… -

While I model trains in the United States and Canada, I do own a small fleet of OO Gauge models that I bring out for fun!
Some of my more colorful ones are these Rapido Trains U.K. seven plank open wagons each painted up for one of the master mechanics of the Big Four.
As is expected from Rapido in any form the details on the cars are very… -

This is the progress on my next 009 TR loco. No.7 Tom Rolt, or Red Rolt because of the colour.
The body is an ERTL Duncan, that’s been modified to look more like the modified Irish locomotive.
I’ve dremeled out the space needed to accomadate the motor the other night. Looking pretty good so far!

Back in late April, I had a go at making a rail load, for a Bogie Bolster, using scrap/damaged track.
Rails were cut to size before gluing some matchsticks on the railhead, then adding a second stack of rails.
Once dry, I painted the rails with some brown paint, then mixed up darker browns and applied them to the wet paint. Some tamyia tape…

Found this wonderful site thanks to Buggleskelly station
Been a fan of model railways since 1999, had a few other years but here’s my last one. Marwyn Jnc, which has halted progress, was bought by me and my previous partner, 8x4ft on two boards but things went south and lost interest. We removed the track and relaid it.
Have plans for a 7x3ft…

Back to that “castle deflector” i mentioned earlier,
this was the test fit on my GWR castle (I wont be using this one for this mod) and they fit rather well! they just require some work towards the bottom of the deflector plates to rest properly on the footplate. This is using Royal Scot deflectors for the record.
On the look out for a BR(W)…
