Hey Jimmy, thanks for mentioning this site. Had a major heart issue, told to slow it down and relax, so returning to the hobby after 40 years.
Working from home, and have very little room for a layout – it will be part of my work desk.
N, Kato track, point to point operation, but with full loop with passing line for ‘entertaining’ /…

My first attempt at scenery was this camping scene. The fire pit is a bit out of scele but the rest I think turned out OK

Hey there, Model Train Media! This is awesome. A place to just talk about model trains. Thank you, creators. I’m an N-scale modeler in VA and would love to connect with others. Cheers!

Facebook is okay, and has active model railroader pages. Twitter/X? Not as much. This is another place where I can get ideas.

Hello! I currently model the St. Lawrence & Atlantic, circa 1989, in N scale, but am already considering building a smaller, shelf layout.
My thoughts are to model the rail ferry terminal and a few of the nearby industries in Matane, Quebec. To do this, I’d want to build as the signature piece at least a portion of the rail ferry Georges A.…

Worked on a corner of the layout, added gravel to the road shoulders plus a few bushes and a speed limit sign. The semi-truck is just for visuals, it blocks too much of the pull-off scene on the other side for my liking. Added a fence by a factory on the other side of the layout, debating on whether or not to keep it there. Not glued in at the moment.

Anyone here well versed in 3D printing? I’m looking to get a 3D printer with the hopes of printing some N Scale detail parts and possibly some buildings but I have no idea what I need. I was looking at the Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16K as an option as it seems to be very high fidelity but I’m not sure if this is overkill or simply not the right product.

Hello all, thought I would introduce myself by showing off my main layout — I call it the Bit-Of-Everything Branchline — or more commonly “The BOE Line”. I like to model a little bit of everything: from Japanese steam to German electric to American Diesel. I also like to model a lot of different eras, so right now my home layout is a…
