The “BoomBox” Project
Hi guys, i have an HO scale boxcar that im going to fit a Bluetooth speaker into. I think ive found a good option in terms of speakers, gonna do a little more digging. Hopefully i can just pop the shell off to charge it.
The boxcar in question is up for debate. Ive got 2 good options, both Roundhouse (from the 80s). I can drill speaker holes to allow audio to go through. Im still not sure, because i still want this car to run in serious OPs trains, but it can play music if i want to.
Let me know if you know of good iptoons for speakers. Ideally it should be mounted downwards for best audio. Ive got about 1 1/4th inch to work woth (width). Again, ideally, id like to not have to gut any electronics to make them fit.

I have an idea, how about using a cattle car as opposed to a boxcar. holes already there. maybe use Bluetooth earbuds. might be able to get pickup trucks to charge the buds

@casey-jones I thought about that, but I don’t want any light shining through the slits in between the boards, showing the speaker. I will defiantly try the earbuds though

If you put the speaker facing down on the underside of the roof. or place the earbuds on either end of the cattle car nothing should be visible
