• We're Winning

      Hey friend!

I spent the weekend dismantling the outer mountain pass and replacing what I had constructed with a Woodland Scenics 2% incline kit. I had noticed a few issues with my original attempt, I was trying to go up grade through both curves, the track had a slight camber in the rear curve, and I discovered the rails were rough on a few pieces of (used) track. The track is now mostly flat through both curves and inclines in the rear (through the mountain). Originally, I wanted the visual of a train going up into the mountain, but will settle with a flat track going into the mountain; there are enough challenges ahead, don’t need to fight physics. I tossed the few pieces of track with rough rails and replaced with normal ones.

I am 100% satisfied with the track and believe it’s the best I can do, so I will shift my focus onto creating the mountain. I am thinking of having a section that is removable from the rear to access inside the mountain for cleaning and any possible derailments. I plan on constructing the mountain with scraps of foam and plaster. Wish me luck, never done anything like this before.

      Happy Day
