• My first own layout

Since i had no room, and no understanding of my second half(!), first I had to work on club layouts and in a modelshop/permanent exhibition.

At last, about three years ago, I could start to make my own layout, advantage of the widowship…

My bedroom layout measures 160 by 50 cm on the visible part, and has half a turnaround circle on the left side and a fiddle yard behind. ‘Edgeworth’ and ‘Combwich’ were my first inspiration, but I was also fascinated by the Wisbech to Upwell tramway: I had to translate the article Alan Price wrote for the Belgian ‘Modelspoormagazine/Train Miniature Magazine’.

So i tried to combine those two themes: a small terminal station (with no headshunt at all!) for short, mostly push-pull, passenger trains and a goods interchange with the tramway. The tramway, opposedly to the real thing, still has passenger services too.

You can imagine that the station pilot has a lot to do! That’s why there is a quite large coal staithe and a water tower. The water tower is built near a water spring and a windmill to pump the water up to the tower.

It’s not finished yet (will it ever?) since I would like tomake a cattle dock as well, and a lot more details, such as more signals and signal/point rods.
I’ll post some more images and the track plan later on.

Glad to have found a new place to share ideas and so on, Oscar, a very big THANK YOU ! ! !
