My mum must have known what she was doing when she named me Thomas because her Tommy has been into trains, from his first Lionel set at 4, to his N Gauge endeavors 65 years later! Talk about going to one extreme to another – in age and in scale – and in $$ too 😄

I am starting a modular N Gage setup, having moved into my apartment, using TTrak boxes from a 🇨🇦 company.

I will try and focus on Southern & LMS actions on a fictitious line somewhere inbetween London & Southhampton, although like everyone else, I have a lot of other Big 4 locos and rolling stock around too. As I tell my children when they see me running trains, “There’s your inheritance, kids!” For their sake, I try to stay between the mid forties to early BR time period – I want them to afford a free pint or two when the coals in my boiler finally go out! Until then, let’s step up to the footplate everyone and get that whistle blowing! Full steam ahead!
