Last year I upgraded my 40 year old Minitrix Britannia with a coreless motor and DCC decoder and recently I finally followed through making a writeup about it 😁

A lot of you probably won’t have any surprises in there, but for me as a relative amateur it was a fun learning experience. Let me know if there’s any useful information that it feels like I left out.

My next post will likely be either adding a decoder to some Kato points (there’s a decoder that will actually fit inside them) or upgrading an incredibly noisy Farish Poole 37 with a coreless motor. Not sure if I want to try to shove a decoder in there or not yet.
