I started TrainNerdsGirlfriend on Tiktok and Insta to help support my bf who is a manager at Trago Mills Family Fun Park nr Newton Abbot in Devon, which is the home of Trago Mills Model Railway which he is passionate about, at 88 feet by 44 feet (about 27 m × 13.5 m). It’s an OO gauge model railway and, when completed in 1989, it was reportedly the largest model railway in the UK at the time.
To give you a sense of scale: that’s roughly the size of a small house footprint or a tennis court filled with trains, scenery, stations, and working features. But still boasts as one of the largest in the uk. The years have had its ups and downs and when he took over only 2 of 21 tracks were working and most of the diorama sections were out of action. Since taking it over in March with help from some volunteers and friends from Devon Model Railways and Exe Model Railway Society we now have 12 tracks working for the most part reliably alot of the the lights working and more and more of the diorama interactive elements working. I’m really impressed and proud of all the progress thats been made so far in the short time we have been working on it. Will be sharing progress and improvments.
