Galacta in Marvel Rivals: Origins & Powers

NetEase Games and Marvel Games’ upcoming 6v6 hero shooter Marvel Rivals pits iconic characters such as Magneto, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, and Rocket Raccoon against a villainous Doctor Doom. Overseeing these battles is a mysterious cosmic entity named Galacta—also called Gali—who serves as the game’s narrator and arbiter. Though she resembles Galactus, she is a distinct being with her own unique origins.

A Non‑Canon Comic Debut

Galacta first appeared in the 2009–2010 short comic run Galacta: Daughter of Galactus and the anthology The Marvel Assistant‑Sized Spectacular. She hails from an alternate universe (Earth‑610102) and remains non‑canon to the main Marvel 616 continuity. In the comics, she is portrayed as a young woman living on Earth who blends in socially, maintains a blog and an X (formerly Twitter) account, and secretly preys on intergalactic threats when her hunger demands it. Her relationship with her father, Galactus, is strained, but she has built a relatively ordinary life free from the cosmic burden that drives him.
