      Z Scale

      Curiosity/Questions about Z scale

Just wondering, but if one wants to get just a workable oval layout in Z Scale, what kind of track is recommended?? Also, can Z Scale run on normal DC power packs used for HO??

I think it would be cool to build an Z Scale layout/diorama for an RDC car to drive around in the country side.

Thank you in advance. Just getting ideas for the future.

        • The power packs for Z Scale supply run around 10 VAC while HO are 12VAC or higher. HO Power Supplies damage Z scale Locomotives.

Thank you for letting me know! That would be a bummer giving too much power!

            • Definitely Rokuhan track. It already comes with the roadbed. If you’re used to Kato track in N Scale or HO Scale you’ll definitely like this track. Rokuhan’s R028 is an oval set to get you started and you can use the Rokuhan RC02 or RC03 controllers which are 10 Volts. A good sized base for the oval loop would be 18×24 inches just to give you enough room for scenery. If there’s anything I can be of assistance with, please let me know.
