Newbie: What should I expect?
Hey, all:
I am new to this platform; found out about it from Jimmy DIY’s channel.
I have been a model railroader for a long time, and I’m part of a MRR club.
I come from ModelRailroadForums.com. The people there are nice, but I’m thinking of leaving it and coming here, because the website itself has a not-so-good past (or so i’ve heard), and because of the endless in-your-face ads.
Because I’m new, I thought I’d ask some of you for guidance. What should I expect from this platform? Is there any subscription service I need to use it? Are the people here generally friendly? (And other questions like that)

Welcome aboard! I’m also a member of modelrailroadforums.com, although I’ll never leave:) I would say stick with that site too because there are plenty of great people there as well, with very helpful information. This site is fantastic but since it’s still new, it’ll be harder to get questions answered as people are still finding their way to it. Definitely stick around here as it’ll only get better!

Hey Astroknight, my name is Oscar and I am 21 years old. I am the founder of Model Train Media.
We are just starting out, we have launched 4 months ago and I created this platform to create a digital home for model train enthusiasts around the world.
My main goal is to be a platform where the hobbyists are in charge, I will always put the community upfront so there will not be any pushy adds ever.
Because we are just starting out it can happen that in the beginning it could be a little bit harder to get people answering your question.
But together with you and all other hobbyists who recently joined this platform we can make this a succes.
We are soon launching a app to be the first dedicated social media train platform out there!

welcome! i am newbie here as well and just stumbled across this site…but it is a nice forum to gain inspiration from others work, share your efforts, ask questions and enjoy the hobby regardless of scale, geography or skill level. Oscar has done a nice job bringing this along, in it’s infancy.
