Changing My Thought Process on Model Railroading
I’ve been listening to many episodes of Ray Arnott’s wonderful podcast ‘Around the Layout’. He’s interviewed Lance Mindheim a couple of times and it got me thinking about how I approach model railroading.

Making Structures
Currently working on one of the first kits for the layout. This is a Pikestuff kit from Rix Products. I’ll be combining a couple kits to make the ceramic pellets manufacturer for Riverside.

Riverside
Here’s the revised look of Riverside. Still need to add a couple more layers of a dark wash onto the rocks to complete the look.

Progress
Making progress on the rebuilding of this section of my layout, now called Riverside. Old truss bridge is out and a new stone arch bridge has taken its place. New track has been added as well. Not yet weathered.

Simple Switch Lock
I created some simple switch locks for OPs. These are made from laminated cardstock attached to the fascia with velcro and a screw eye drilled into the diagram with a lock attached. During switching sessions, the conductor will need to unlock the switch before the engineer can proceed. Nothing too fancy but this will definitely slow OPs down…
